Tony Hawk demo @ the Hillyard Skatepark in Spokane, WA
Today my girlfriend and I got to go see Tony Hawk do a demonstration with several other skaters at our local Hillyard Skatepark. I’ve never been to an event like this, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Needless to say, I had a blast! Even after squirming in-between wall-to-wall people, so that we could snap some pictures and video, I can say that it was worth the effort. It was pretty slick. All of the skaters got to show off a bit, and Tony Hawk finished the demo by doing a front flip out of the bowl on his skateboard.
My girlfriend was able to nab an amazing video of it that I’ve attached below, and with some editing I yanked some stills from the video and twisted ’em about a bit with Instagram (one such instance is featured above!).
If you ever get a chance to check out a demonstration like this go for it. Even if you’re not into skateboarding Tony Hawk is a household name, and I can say from firsthand that it was a killer experience.
